How to Learn at Rekindled Radiance

Hear Master Dusk Lantern discourse upon the Ru (Confucian) Dao.

The Confucian Dao appears simple but is difficult to comprehend, and still harder to understand how to apply it to modern life.

Master Dusk Lantern takes two separate approaches in lecturing.

One approach is by topic. In this lecture series, Master Dusk Lantern explains how to cultivate yourself, then how to cultivate your relationships (including family), and finally, the foundations of proper governing and the policies that must flow therefrom.

The other approach is by examining the classical texts. Master Dusk Lantern goes through the Analects, the Mencius, and the Xunzi section by section, chapter by chapter. Here you will learn how the teachings of Confucius interconnect into one great vision of human life; learn how Mencius cultivates the human virtues and proper relations; learn how Xunzi thoroughly explains the deeper meanings of li (ritual propriety), the reality of human nature, the significance of music, and how to regard destiny. All three philosophers teach us about how to properly govern, refute wrong philosophies that people still believe today, and inspire courage to do what is right for the rest of our lives. You will learn how to apply each of these philosopher’s insights into your life, even as you live in the modern world.

Through either path, you will realize a wisdom that can powerfully guide through any difficult situation of any scope in life.

After all, as Confucius had once said, a proper teacher is one who can take the old and apply it to the new.
